Rebuilding Together is the nation’s leading nonprofit organization working to preserve affordable home ownership and revitalize communities with free home and facility repairs. Our affiliate has served Dallas/Ft. Worth’s community since 2001. In that time, we have made critical safety and accessibility improvements to more than 500 homes so our clients may live in safe and accessible homes. Additionally, we assist nonprofit organizations and community spaces with facility maintenance and repairs so they may dedicate their time and resources to making a difference in our community. Together we are strengthening the Denton, Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Rockwall counties to build a brighter future for North Texas. We work year round with a strong project focus in the spring and fall. Paying homage to our roots, April is typically one our busiest project months and called “National Rebuilding Month.” Each year we host one the largest volunteer days of our year, “National Rebuilding Day,” normally taking place the last Saturday in April each year. Our fall projects focus around Rebuilding For Heroes, where we emphasize our work for veteran home owners and surviving spouses. Our programs aim to alleviate the financial burdens associated with costly repairs and allow homeowners and their families to dwell in safe, healthy homes with peace of mind. No two homes are the same, therefore no two work scopes are identical. Repairs vary in scope, ranging from a small plumbing repair to new drywall and roof replacement. Qualified homeowners selected for our programs receive home repair services specific to their needs and our available resources. Applications are taken throughout the year and projects are completed as funding becomes available. Participant selection is based on available funding, the needs of the homeowner, and the condition of the home. However, funding is limited and not all qualified applicants will be selected. Our community is in great need and unfortunately, our waitlist is extensive.
