Thank you March of Dimes for having BCBSA President and CEO Kim Keck as part of such a special evening – and for a great cause! We were proud to sponsor the 42nd Annual Gourmet Gala as we continue to partner with you in our commitment to maternal health. This year's event raised more than $1.47 million to support the health of all moms and babies. #MODGourmetGala

According to data from Rand, hospitals charged private insurers 254% of Medicare in 2022. As hospital prices rise, consumers pay more. That’s why we are working hard to advance commonsense solutions that can improve care and lower costs. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eVMams65

It’s #ChildrensMentalHealthAwarenessDay and we’re proud of the Blues’ focus on improving youth mental health all year. CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield announced a new partnership with Children's National Hospital that expands access to children’s mental health support. To kick off #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, the organizations held their first Pediatric Mental Health Summit where experts discussed solutions to address the youth mental health crisis. As part of this alliance, CareFirst has increased the reimbursement for preventive and mental health care for primary care providers who go through specialized mental health training.
This #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we're excited to announce our new alliance with Children's National Hospital (Children’s National) to address the youth mental health crisis, expand access to care and advance positive health outcomes for children and families in our shared communities. In response to U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy’s 2021 advisory detailing the urgency of addressing youth mental health in the U.S., our organizations came together to find new and innovative ways to solve pediatric mental healthcare challenges. When a child walks out of the doors of a clinician or therapist's appointment, there are significant additional factors we can't solve through traditional means—we must think outside the box and come together to solve the tough challenges for kids in our communities. Through our partnership, we're addressing those factors outside of the clinical setting while also supporting Children’s National over 700 primary care clinicians on the frontlines of care. In addition, we're collaborating on the “Start Strong New Onset Diabetes Program,” which prioritizes early diagnosis and reducing barriers to diabetes management. To celebrate our partnership, our organizations recently came together in Washington, D.C. alongside countless healthcare leaders from the region for our first Pediatric Mental Health Summit. Discussions centered around “how we got here,” “where we are now” and “where we are going” in the youth mental health crisis. Experts detailed the work happening while calling for action in policy, funding and more. For more on this partnership: http://spr.ly/6048jOL6E #CareFirstCares #MHAM2024
