If there’s not enough time in your day to exercise, connect with friends and family, break for meals, or relax, think about how much time you’re spending online. Reducing your screen time can be easier if you find satisfaction with other, more fulfilling activities. Even five minutes can make a big difference. https://buff.ly/3UP9pvR -- Si no hay suficiente tiempo en su día para hacer ejercicio, conectarse con amigos y familiares, hacer pausas para comer o relajarse, piense en cuánto tiempo pasas en línea. About us
Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region, Inc. (CISDR) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit founded in 1985 to address the growing number of high school dropouts in Dallas and surrounding areas. As experts in collaboration and in providing comprehensive case-managed services, CISDR’s professional staff brings community resources into schools to work in the interest of at-risk children in a coordinated, caring and cost-effective way. Currently, CISDR operates in 130 schools in 14 school districts in Dallas, Collin, Ellis, Hunt and Rockwall counties. Students are recommended to the program by teachers, counselors, administrators, parents, friends or are self-referred. CISDR case managers work with each child to develop a holistic plan to prepare students for successful lives. This means that CISDR not only works with students to address academic concerns, but also with parents, teachers and administrators who are involved with these students each day. By using this holistic wrap-around approach, distractions and disruptions in the student’s life outside of the school environment are addressed, allowing the student to focus on his/her schoolwork.

Studies have found that people who regularly drink water have a decreased risk of developing depression and anxiety. Drinking enough water doesn't magically cure anxiety and depression, however, it nourishes the brain and helps combat the symptoms you may experience. https://buff.ly/4aq2nUb -- Estudios han encontrado que las personas que beben agua con regularidad tienen un menor riesgo de desarrollar depresión y ansiedad. This week we will be sharing five tips, one per day, that you can use to improve your mental health. These come from Mental Health America and their Mental Health Awareness Month resources. Research has shown that consciously practicing gratitude can reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. In fact, studies have found that a single act of thoughtful gratitude produces an immediate 10% increase in happiness, and a 35% reduction in depressive symptoms. These effects disappeared within three to six months, which reminds us to practice gratitude over and over. --- Estudios han demostrado que practicar conscientemente la gratitud puede reducir los sentimientos de estrés y ansiedad. As part of our observance of Mental Health Awareness Month, we're engaged in an activity known as "Love Bugs." These involve inscribing words of affirmation and gratitude onto connected circles, forming a delightful caterpillar-like display brimming with positivity. Two Love Bugs have been initiated by our site coordinators, Pamela from Carrollton Elementary School, and Chelsie from Neblett Elementary School. Pamela shared that the students enjoyed sharing kind words about their parents, teachers and classmates. They were very impressed learning about how gratitude and kindness helps decrease anxiety and depression. They plan on adding more and more circles to their Love Bug, which they have named Mrs. Cutie-pillar. The Love Bug at Neblett is being created by both the students and the staff alike. #AllInForKids #MentalHealthMatters #MHA Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Sherman Independent School District Dr. Summer Rose
