Today we are highlighting an architecture legend for Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month (#AAPIHM)! Master architect Ieoh Ming Pei (1917-2019) left behind many renowned creations. 🏢 Drawn to American arts, he moved to the U.S. in 1935 and received a bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, respectively. 🛫 Pei's first major recognition came from designing the Mesa Laboratory at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Colorado, which was completed in 1967. This led to his selection as the chief architect for the John F. Kennedy Library in Massachusetts and designing Dallas City Hall and the East Building of the National Gallery of Art. He later designed the famous Bank of China Tower in Hong Kong, Louvre Pyramids in France, and Miho Museum in Japan. Pei mastered the connection between science and art - incorporating Modernist cubism, particularly circles, squares, and triangles, into traditional architectural principles. This unique skill is what gives his buildings such elegant, textured designs crossing generations of intrigue. This also led to his numerous accolades including what is referred to often as the Nobel Prize of architecture: the Pritzker Prize in 1983. We at #IEAInc salute his contributions to AEC and bridging the gap between science and art! 🎭 Check out an upcoming exhibition of I.M. Pei’s incredible career and other noteworthy Art Shows around the world: https://zurl.co/Z6Ho #AAPI #STEMspirational #STEMInTheNews #InclusionEVERYDAY

As pavement season approaches, on-site workers need to prioritize sufficient sleep and regular breaks while working long hours. Fatigue can lead to reduced productivity and higher rates of accidents and injuries in the workplace. According to the National Safety Council, fatigue is responsible for causing 13% of workplace accidents and injuries each year. Ignoring fatigue can lead to serious injuries on the job site. It’s crucial to recognize fatigue symptoms to ensure every worker's safety and prevent injuries on the job site. ⚠️ #IEAInc #SafetyCorner #SafetyFirst
