Winners! Last night, our #KirkseyAustin crew attended the AIA Austin #Design Awards and went home with an award for the Round Rock ISD Natatorium. The judges recognized the team's commitment to the science and sustainability of a facility designed with efficiency and flexibility to support training for three high school swim teams simultaneously and the ability to host UIL-sanctioned meets. The passively ventilated pool enclosures use a custom modular structure to accommodate air movement, daylighting, radiant heating, and the energy and heating benefits gained from a CHP (Combined Heat & Power) generator. Yellowstone Schools is a place where students thrive and grow, a school built to give students "choice-filled lives." It has been an honor to be part of Yellowstone's story and to design their new upper school. We absolutely cannot wait to see what the class of 2027 accomplishes when they go out into the world with their Yellowstone diplomas! Watch this video for more about Yellowstone's mission, growth, and impact. #kirkseyprojects #kirkseydesign

A new Legacy Community Clinic is #comingsoon to Pasadena! Legacy Pasadena Southmore broke ground last week and will open next fall. Legacy Community Health and Houston Methodist will lead the new 40,000-sf clinic, adding essential and affordable #healthcare to the Pasadena area. The Pasadena Southmore location is one of two new clinics made possible by a generous gift from Houston Methodist. Congratulations to the Legacy and Houston Methodist teams and the entire project team on this exciting milestone! #kirkseyprojects #kirkseydesign

The HNOMA, WIA & LIA brunch - An absolutely brilliant initiative and gathering of professional and aspiring women in the Architecture and Interior Design world. Looking forward to more. On Friday, we took a road trip to the SFASU Dining Hall job site. The first load of Mass Timber arrived Wednesday and had started erecting it. It is very exciting to see this go up! It is the first mass timber dining hall in Texas. SFASU is equally excited! They had their university flag placed on the crane. The job site is so clean and the timber looks beautiful. They look like Lincoln logs. Stay tuned for more to come. Stephen F. Austin State University Kirksey Architecture KDW

Kirksey Architecture sponsored The Women of Color Architectural brunch. A gathering of three major organizations HNOMA , AIAH WiA and LiA. The rainy weather did not keep us from gathering. We had a great turn out. Pleasant way of networking and meeting wonderful women in the field.
The Women of Color in Architecture Brunch was amazing! The program was informative and engaging with over 30 professionals and students in attendance. This was a collaborative effort between #HNOMA Houston NOMA, AIA #LiA Latinos in Architecture, and AIA #WiA Women in Architecture. Thanks to our sponsors - Kirksey Architecture, MSI Surfaces, and Tarkett Flooring! Special Thanks to the committee who worked hard to make this a successful event!

You know it... We know it… But now it’s OFFICIAL! Our building renovation has earned the reputation of significantly sculpting the look, feel and image of Houston! Conrad N. Hilton College of Global Hospitality Leadership – particularly the Hilton hotel renovation and expansion – has won the Houston Business Journal 2024 Landmark Award in Hospitality. We have earned this recognition because, as many of you already know, the project included a 54,000-square-foot expansion with the addition of an eight-story tower as well as a 64,000-square-foot renovation of the hotel. It also included a new coffee shop, Cougar Grounds, and new administration offices for the Center for Student Success. The project nearly doubled the key count from 80 to 150, and our hotel’s rooms, courtyard, lobby and public spaces were revamped. We would especially like to recognize the following: General contractor: DPR Construction Architect: Kirksey Architecture Engineer: Martinez Moore MEP: Infrastructure Associates Interior designer: Looney & Associates

Last week we exhibited at the NACAS South Region CX Conference 2024 in Orlando, and one of our resident higher education design experts, Brady Jobe, was part of a presentation about the collaborative process of creating immersive and engaging spaces. Our team connected with other professionals and exchanged ideas about "creating and cultivating the college experience" through great design and planning. Thank you to the NACAS team and to our crew - Brady, R. Linda Camacho, and Steve Durham - for representing Kirksey! #kirkseypeople #kirkseypresents
