Designing a luxury restaurant within a high-rise residential tower requires balancing essential elements of upscale dining while protecting the lifestyle experience of building residents. As Page Project Architect Kevin Olsen, RA, RID, explains, thoughtful consideration to unseen details – from controlling noise levels and mastering kitchen flow to optimizing limited space and curating ambiance through intentional lighting -- can take the experience for diners and residents alike from ordinary to extraordinary. Kevin shares our approach to integrating restaurant hospitality and residential design via our recent role as executive architect collaborating with Urbanspace at the Bacalar restaurant located on the ground floor of #44EastAve in Austin, Texas. The COVID-19 pandemic and its resulting remote/in-office hybrid workplace trends provided a great opportunity for reimagining the workplace. That’s precisely what Page did when it leveraged hospitality-oriented workplace design, amenities, and vibrant experiences to curate a collaborative office setting and culture for its 270-person Austin, Texas team. Housed in Austin’s downtown Indeed Tower, a Page-designed, LEED Platinum, 36-story, Class AA mixed-use tower, our new offices are a prototype to showcase how an amenities-filled workplace located in an activated, mixed-use environment can be an asset to clients’ real estate strategies and foster dynamic urban cores that attract a thriving economy and engaged community. Founded in Austin over 100 years ago, Page has grown to 21 offices across the globe. Our Austin colleagues moved into Indeed Tower in April. "We are incredibly proud of our roots in Austin, and we owe our success to the trust and support of our clients, who have been integral to our journey to becoming a global design leader," states Page/Austin Managing Director and Principal Daniel Brooks. "This move is not just about a new location; it is a renewal of our pledge to deliver exceptional, innovative design solutions in the city that started it all for us. Furthermore, it's a testament to the strength of our design-led approach in an era where urban revitalization challenges and opportunities abound." Our latest Health Partner Insight with Dr. Brandi Justice, Psy.D., shares powerful insights into the evolution of behavioral health facility design from institutional and bleak to welcoming and healing. Whether you are in the behavioral health world of care and treatment, or whether you, a family member, a friend or colleague are among the millions of American who struggle with psychiatric and mental health issues, Dr. Justice’s words of compassion and advocacy will resonate: https://lnkd.in/gtP_APy4 With deep appreciation to our visionary client, the Virginia Department of General Services, which engaged Page’s behavioral health planning and A/E team to plan and design their new Central State Hospital in Petersburg, VA, where Dr. Justice is CEO/Director. #CuratingCare #BehavioralHealthFacilityDesign #DesignLed

Growing up in India, healthcare felt personal for Page/Albuquerque Operations Director Nitish Suvarna: “My doctor knew my parents and my immediate family by name since I was born.” That’s one of the reasons he’s fascinated by rural healthcare architecture in the US, where a more personal approach is frequently embraced. For example, one healthcare client in a rural setting amplified the personal touch by including others in the design process — inviting community feedback, suggestions from a vendor on cafeteria flow, and input from clinical staff. Nitish shares his story here: https://bit.ly/3JJf2GN #RuralHealthcare #DesignThatMakesLivesBetter #HealthcareArchitecture #CuratingCare

Hope is endemic to architecture and design. Every built environment is founded on the hope that it will provide nurturing, security, healing, and be a place for growth, learning, productivity, and creativity. We’re honored to have provided design for the new state-of-the-art Diversion Center and Behavioral Health Hospital in Lubbock, Texas, where hope is instilled in every aspect of design. In collaboration with our client StarCare Lubbock and design partner Parkhill, it’s wonderful to see this much-needed crisis care facility breaking ground. #BehavioralHealthDesign #CrisisCare #CuratingCare #HealthcareArchitecture #DesignThatMakesLivesBetter

"In architecture, as in life, everything is design – every element, from the grandest structure to the smallest detail, contributes to the overall aesthetic, function, and experience of a space. "This idea transcends traditional boundaries, recognizing that design extends beyond physical structures to encompass social, cultural, and environmental considerations. It emphasizes the holistic integration of form and function, where each decision reflects a thoughtful balance between aesthetic expression and practical utility. "In essence, it advocates for a mindful approach to shaping our built environment, recognizing the profound impact that design has on our lives, communities, and the world." – Page Senior Designer Alejandro González @thegonzalezstudio #DesignMoments #Architecture #BuiltEnvironment #DesignLed
