    Lesley Frohberg-Nyp, AICP, CNU-A has been named Director of Development and Neighborhood Services. She has been serving as the Interim Director for the past month. Nyp has demonstrated exceptional leadership throughout her tenure with the Town. Her top priority in her new role is to fill the vacancies in the department and build a strong team that can support and implement the vision of the City Manager and City Council. Congratulations Lesley!

    Addison City Manager David G. announced today the appointment of Christopher Freis as Addison’s new Police Chief. Freis previously served as the Assistant Chief of Police for the Duncanville Police Department.  Addison executed a national search for this high-profile, important role. “The caliber of candidates interested in this position was very impressive,” said Addison City Manager David Gaines. “I am confident in his abilities to lead the Department and deliver excellent service in the Addison Way, and I look forward to working closely with him to ensure the continued success of the Addison Police Department.” Throughout his career, Freis has served in several roles including Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Team Leader, Use-of-Force Instructor, and Department Firearms Instructor. He believes in managing Public Safety in a manner that is responsive to the community and reflective of national standards and best practices. He also is a graduate of the FBI LEEDA Trilogy Series and the Police Executive Research Forum Senior Management Institute of Police. Freis earned his Bachelor of Science from Dallas Baptist University and holds a Master Peace Officer License from the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Law Enforcement & Public Safety Leadership. He enjoys spending time with his wife, son, and their two dogs. Freis will start on Monday, June 10.

    Congratulations to Leadership Metrocrest Class of XXXIII graduates! Today, the Metrocrest Chamber Of Commerce held a graduation luncheon for the Leadership Metrocrest Class of XXXIII. Leadership Metrocrest is a nine-month-long program designed to increase the community knowledge and leadership skills of individuals seeking civic leadership positions in the community. A special congratulations to Addison employees Assistant Fire Chief/Fire Marshal Fred Calhoun, Special Events Director Abby Morales, Interim Police Chief Mike Vincent, and Economic Development Manager Lauren Williams (not pictured), along with resident and Planning & Zoning Commissioner Shelia Wooldridge, Realtor.
