Do you measure your employee’s capabilities by having them take just one test on one day? Employee performance reviews focus on your employee’s work over a set amount of time. They often include an evaluation of your employees' overall performance, highlighting strengths and opportunities for future growth, sharing feedback, and then helping them set goals. What do you want to see measured in our Texas public schools, the place where your future workforce is learning and getting ready for college and career? #hiringmanagers #TalentAcquisition #CareerDevelopment

The A-F grading system for Texas public schools is complex, but let's try to simplify it. For elementary and middle schools, the #STAAR test is the only factor that affects the school's grade. A high school grade takes the STAAR test, college, career, and military readiness, and graduation rate as factors. What metrics do you consider when evaluating a school's performance? #TexasSchools #TXEd #TXLege

A lot goes into maintaining and running Texas public schools and Texas’ 1250+ ISDs have a number of demands to meet with the money allotted to them by the Texas Legislature. To understand how school districts spend the funding they receive, we can simplify all that money down to a single dollar– the education dollar. What do you look for in a good school? Career and technical programs were at the top of the list when we asked 15,600+ Texans, but that's not what the state measures when they rate our public schools. Read the full story at https://lnkd.in/gyKt-yzu #TexasSchools #TXEd #TXLege

The Texas public education system is the second largest in the country. Smart planning and adequate funding are essential to make this system work for every Texan. However, school funding is not a simple subject. It helps to think of funding schools like filling a glass of water 💧. The water in the glass represents the amount of money💰 the Texas Legislature allocates to educate each student. The water glass can shrink or grow. But many people are surprised to learn that the size of a Texas school district’s water glass– or how much money is available for, and sent on day-to-day school operations–is decided almost entirely by the state legislature, NOT school boards or superintendents. We have created a series of School Finance videos to help every taxpayer understand how schools in Texas are funded, what they spend their money on, and how Texas stacks up against the rest of the country. We welcome your thoughts and hope these are helpful in your conversations about school funding. https://lnkd.in/ged-y8_a #TxEd #TxLege #FundOurSchools

Do you know your school's rating? You might want to check it again. About 25% of Texas schools will see a drop in their letter grade because of a retroactive change in the state's school rating system. Read the full story at bit.ly/ReformRatingsATX #TexasSchools #TXEd #TXLege
